HydroH2, a subsidiary of Grupa Nowa Energia, is developing projects in Poland to produce renewable hydrogen and synthetic fuels that meet the European Union’s requirements for RFNBO fuels.
Renewable hydrogen that meets RFNBO criteria
HydroH2 designs and develops electrolysis plants powered by renewable energy. The hydrogen produced this way meets the EU criteria for renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) set out in the RED III directive and the European Commission’s delegated acts — allowing industrial off-takers to count it towards their emission-reduction and reporting targets.
The company’s expertise covers the selection of electrolysis technology, securing renewable energy supply, structuring off-take agreements and ensuring the regulatory compliance of both production and settlement.
Selected project directions
8 MW PEM electrolysis, Podkarpacie
A renewable hydrogen production plant with an 8 MW electrolyser, being developed through a special-purpose vehicle for industrial off-takers. The project covers renewable power supply as well as hydrogen delivery logistics.
Renewable synthetic fuels (e-SAF)
Power-to-Liquid fuel initiatives, including sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF), being developed at sites with a strong industrial base. The projects combine renewable hydrogen production with liquid-fuel synthesis.

HydroH2 solutions are aimed at the chemical, refining and glass industries, as well as the transport and aviation sectors — wherever regulation and climate targets call for renewable fuels to form part of the energy mix.
